Dragon Ball Z is an animation series about action fighting characters that seek the seven dragon balls to be granted a wish from the dragon. The Z fighters are the defenders of Earth. To be a Z fighter you more or less have to be Goku's friend. (That can fight)
There are many different characters good and bad. The story starts out with Raditz stealing Gohan who is Goku's son. Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball Z.
Goku fights Raditz with Piccolo and wins. Then Goku dies while he was fighting Raditz and finds himself in another dimension. Then he finds King Kai and he is trained under the art of Kaio-Ken. Goku's friends wish him back to Earth and that?s when Nappa and Vegeta come. Before Goku gets to fight Vegeta, Vegeta destroys many Z fighters. Goku destroys Nappa and Vegeta is a different story. Goku is almost dead when he gives Krillen a Spirit Bomb to fire at Vegeta. Vegeta dodges it and Gohan rebounds it back at Vegeta and it was a direct hit. Vegeta is almost dead when he climbs back into his capsule and leaves Earth.
The next journey was to go to Namek to find the Namekian Dragonballs to wish the Z fighters back that had got killed by Vegeta and Nappa. On Namek they found Frieza. Frieza at this time was the most powerful warrior. He was the head of the bad guys and was the boss of Vegeta. Also on Namek is a Namekian called Diende. Diende has the power to heal people. He becomes friends with Gohan. This helps when they fight Frieza. Vegeta and Piccolo start to fight Frieza. They both cannot beat him in his final form. Goku gets done healing from the Ginyu fight before and comes to save the day. At first Goku is helpless. Since Frieza shot at Piccolo and it hit him near the heart Piccolo is out of the battle. Then Frieza controls Krilin takes him up in the air then he explodes with the movement of his hand he did this.
With Krilin's death Goku turns Super Sayain. Then Goku destroys Frieza. Then Namek explodes! From Frieza's Trump Card that he fired earlier.
Goku finds Captain Ginyu's capsule before Frieza explodes and goes to a planet that he learns how to teleport and obtains a heart virus.
Frieza revives himself and comes back with his father King Kole. Everybody is in shock. Then Trunks comes from the future to save everybody. Trunks kills Frieza and King Kole. After the fight Goku teleports to Earth. Trunks tells him that the androids are coming in three-years.
The Z fighters are all training for when the androids come. The androids did come as he said and they were on an island looking for Goku. The Z fighters search the island for them. The finally find them with one of the Z fighters (Yamcha) having the life sucked out of them by the android. The android drops him when Goku, Piccolo, and Krilin. Goku leads android 20 and android 19 away from the island. Goku brings them to a another island that is far out of the reach of any civilization.
Goku uses his super Sayain power to fight android 19. He does really well in the begging until his heart virus kicks in. Then his life is being sucked out by android 19 and Vegita comes to save him. He tells the story about how he became super Sayain and defeats android 19. Then they find out that android 20 is Doctor Gero.
Dr. Gero blows up a ship as cover then starts to run to his lab and awake androids 17 and 18. Trunks comes and saves Bulma and baby Trunks. The Z fighters all want to try to find the lab before Dr. Gero gets there except Vegita. He thinks he is strong enough to defeat the androids. Trunks tells him not to underestimate the androids strength. Bulma remembers that her dad told her that his lab was somewhere in some mountains.
Vegita goes to make sure that the androids get activated so he can fight them. Trunks follows him. Krillin, Tien, and Piccolo goes to kill Dr. Gero before the androids are activated. They split up and Krillin finds Dr. Gero. He fights the android and loses. Krillin finds the lab and calls Tien and Piccolo using a technique. Trunks and Vegita find them to. The door is closed so they can't enter.
Dr. Gero is already in the lab and activates android #17 and #18. The androids attack and kill Dr.Gero. They want to activate android #16. Trunks shoots his most powerful energy wave at the door. The Z fighters scatter. The androids are standing where the lab was. The chamber where android #16 is in is next to them. Androids #18 and #17 open the chamber.
This android doesn't talk unless it is something about Goku. The Z fighters know this and transport Goku to master Roshi's house. The androids leave to go find Goku.
Everyone else starts training. Gohan and Trunks leave to find something and find a time machine. It is Trunks's machine, but from the future! The go inside and find the old shed form of cell. They go back to the house and tell everyone, while on the news, there is cell.
The androids then get to Goku's house, but he is not there, so they go to Master Roshi's house. There, Goku is now awake. He and androids 16, 17, and 18. 17 and Goku start fighting, but cell comes, absorbs 17, and turns into 2nd stage Cell. Goku gets Trunks, Gohan, and Vegita to come with him to the hyperbolic time chamber where they can get a year of training in a day. First Trunks and Vegita go in. Tein goes to cell and starts pounding him into the ground, literally. Then 16 and 18 run off.
When Tein runs out of power, Goku comes and gets him. Then Trunks and Vegita come out and start fighting Cell. Vegita then lets Cell absorb 18 and turn to Perfect Cell. He tells them they have 10 days to prepare for a fight, called the cell games. He tells the world via television about it.
Gohan ends up turning Super Sayian in the time-chamber. Then they train by having a good time. Then they all go to the arena. Only one non-Z-fighter comes, named Hercul (Mr. Satan for all of the people who do not watch cartoon networks version of Dragon Ball Z). He thinks everything they do is an optical illusion. By the end of the battle Hercule accepts that it is not an illusion. Hercule fights Cell and looses very quickly. After that quick battle Goku starts to fight cell and does very well at it. Vegeta is amazed at his strength. Goku uses the kamehameiha attack and kills Cell. Cell is reborn by a single Cell. Cell kills Goku and Gohan becomes enraged and turns Super Sayian jin 2. Gohan kills Cell with a very strong Kamehameha attack.
